Highlights
Barracudas help cap the High School season
accomplishments with a State Championship 200 Free Relay Team and
another Junior National Qualifying Time!
34 Barracudas represented Niceville, Navarre and Fort Walton Beach
High Schools during the FHSAA Championship series. Dallas
Montgomery, Matt Anders, Hunter Myers were joined by Shelby
Baumgartner, Catie Carden, Haley McWilliams, Lyndsey Schwab and
Andrea Duty on the Niceville Eagle squad. 73% Best times were
achieved at the 3A district meet where Shelby and Dallas moved on
to Regional Competition.
Jessica Marshall represented the Barracudas on the Navarre Raider
team where she swam back to back events 100 back and 100 breast at
the 2A District Meet. Jessica was also a member of the Medley Relay
Team.
Barracudas on the FWBHS Vikings included Brook Arrington, Brianna
Baker, Robert Barkey, Matt Bevil, Michael and Peter Braseth, Frank
Bruechner, Cameron Cain, Lacy Cassidy, Cody Conant, Daniel Craig,
Jordan Day, Jamie Gantert, Jess Gladstone, Erin and Justin Hunt,
Taylor McKeel, Paige Regelman, Michael Rogers, Jesse and Josh
Simmons, Jen Sorensen, David Stevens, Kat Stone and Linsi
VerSteeg.
67% Best Times were gained at the 2A District Level and 12 swimmers
moved on to Regional Competition. Jesse Simmons came home with 3
medals, 1 individual in the 50 free (Jr National QT) Gold in the
Boys 200 free relay and Bronze with the 400 free relay team. Jesse
‘s relay team members were Josh Simmons, Cody Conant and
David Stevens. Their Gold Standard was also an All-American
Considered time in High School swimming!
Derek Anderson, Robbie Amunds, Joe Wagner, Tyler Sorensen and
Lyndsey Holland also swam during the High School season but were
unable to attend the Championship series.
Congratulations to all High School Barracudas and we look forward
to the achievements of our Middle School swimmers who will
represent us at Ruckel, Destin, Bruner and LJPS!
